Author’s Preface
The first part of this book addresses the “Theory of Universal Ethics,” previously published as the monograph Perspectives on the Laws for the Descendants of Noah — Universal Ethics. It brings together numerous individual articles by the author, some of which were published earlier, representing the result of many years of work devoted to illuminating the subject of the Seven Commandments of the Almighty as a fundamental ethical covenant established with all of humanity within the broader sphere of the global community.
The second part of the book, which addresses the practical application and observance of the Laws for the Descendants of Noah, was also previously published in a pilot edition under the title The Practice of Universal Ethics.
I was granted a special blessing from Above in that the contents of this section—where the responsibility for accuracy of presentation is particularly great—were reviewed and approved by one of the foremost experts on the Laws for the Descendants of Noah, Rabbi Moshe Weiner, author of the book The Seven Commandments of the Almighty. In writing his own work, he in turn relied upon the guidance and counsel of one of the greatest sages of our time, a recognized authority in our Tradition, Rabbi Zalman Nechemiah Goldberg.
Rabbi Weiner’s words of endorsement and blessing are also included in this book. I am sincerely grateful for his invaluable advice.
At the end of the Introduction, you will find guidance on how best to study and use the second part of the book according to the individual level of each reader.
